Vent is the second release on AMP Recordings for Award-winning saxophonist Jeffrey Heisler,.
This new release further explores Heisler’s research interest in creating new repertoire for the saxophone. The concept for this album was to engage with contemporary American composers Jennifer Higdon, David Lang, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, William Bolcom, Marc Mellits, and Bill Ryan to take one of their works not originally composed for saxophone and adapt it for the instrument.
This collection of pieces exhibits the virtuoso saxophonist’s timbral expanse, as well as speed and agility.
