The Young Scarlatti

The Young Scarlatti performed by Vincent Corrigan is AMP Recordings’ first release. This excellent recording features some of Domenico Scarlatti’s earliest Sonata’s, written between 1720 – 1749.

The earliest includes 8 sonatas selected from the Essercizi, written between 1720 and 1729, reflect Scarlatti’s debt to contemporaneous keyboard writing.

A second group of 9 sonatas appears in manuscript of printed sources between 1739 and 1742.

The last 3 sonatas on this recording first appear in manuscript in 1749 and speak with a different voice, one much more recognizably Scarlattian.
